Step by Step Pizza Rolls

Make your own dough or use frozen bread dough (thawed)

Roll dough into a rectangle approximately 1/2 inch thick. (My dough recipe yields a lot of dough and my rectangle is approximately 12" X 18".)

Spread pizza sauce (spaghetti sauce or whatever kind of sauce you choose) on dough leaving about an inch down one long side without any sauce
Put on whatever toppings you like. On this batch of pizza rolls I used sausage, green pepper, onion, mushrooms, olives and cheese. Your toppings should be things that will cut easily with dental floss - if using pepperoni I would chop it before putting it on the rolls.

Roll the long side of the dough into a roll ending with the where there is no sauce (this will allow your rolls to seal).

Finished roll before cutting

Take a long piece of dental floss and slide it under the roll about 1 1/2 and bring it over the top, cross and pull - this will give your rolls a clean cut.

just another view of cutting the rolls

Place the rolls on the pan as you cut them leaving enough space between to allow for raising. Cover the rolls (I usually use a clean dish towel) and place in a draft-free area and allow to raise about 30 minutes or until double in size.

Preheat oven to 350. Uncover rolls and sprinkle with grated cheese.

Bake 20 - 25 minutes (until golden brown). Enjoy hot or let cool and bag individually and freeze. When you are ready to eat them take out of the freezer and microwave on high 1 minute. Eat and enjoy!

I vote for a cookbook also, I'll even start with the titles and you just have to fill in the blanks.
