Morgan Valley Marathon 5K

Last Saturday was the first Morgan Valley Marathon and half-marathon.  In addition there was a 5K fun run that was a kick-off for the Morgan County Fair and the celebration of the 100th year of the fair.  We signed up as an office (minus one who wanted to go on vacation instead) to do the fun run.  Stacy's mother-in-law Carol wanted to do it with us also.
Stacy, Me, Shirlee and Carol
We met at the fairgrounds at 6:30 am to prepare for the 7 o'clock race
(notice how fresh and ready we all are)
They moved all the 5K'ers across the street to a different starting point
The gun sounded and they are off
These are the ones who wanted to rush through the race
and then there are those of us who are here to have a good time
Shirlee and I know it is bad luck to wear your race shirt to actually do the race.  I always wear my yellow shirt so that Dale (my photographer and biggest supporter) can pick me out in the crowd
Stacy giving a little wave to let everyone know that she will be okay
We made it through the course and here we come around the bend
Shirlee and I pull out ahead as we eye that finish line!
Shirlee decided to really pour on the steam the closer we got
Stacy trying to get a final picture of our butts as we cross that finish line
Carol pouring on the steam to the finish line (and Stacy still taking pictures of everyones behind)
We made it with no puking or wetting of the pants.  We may have been the last ones to cross the finish line but we had a  great time.
