I had the opportunity to attend Time Out for Women this weekend. The theme was "Choose to Become". It is an amazing experience to attend with so many women and to learn and experience many things together. We traveled to Salt Lake on Friday afternoon, checked into our hotel, went to an early lunch and then headed to the Salt Palace for the beginning of a great event.
We were honored to hear from Brad Wilcox, Sheri Dew and Hilary Weeks. You find yourself laughing one minute and crying the next and then walk away feeling like you can do anything. We had planned to go for ice cream when the event ended that night but due to the storm and being tired some of us went to JB's for hot chocolate, pie and hot fudge sundaes (it was good but I am still wanting to go for good ice cream). We made plans for the next morning and headed off to our rooms.
My lovely daughters - Jenni and Tisah - so cute!
As I was trying to get out on Saturday Jenni may have pulled me down onto her lap and then tried to dump me onto the floor - yes that it is sheer panic on my face as I am headed to the floor!
Such sweet young women - just can't get enough of them!
Linda (Steph's mom), Lori (Steph's Aunt), Steph, Aleshia and I
What a fun weekend to spend with these beautiful ladies and share this event together.
We are already planning on attending next year!
Jen and Tisah
The first presenter on Saturday was unable to attend so we were honored to hear Stephanie Nielson (NieNie) speak - what an awesome lady who has overcome some hard challenges. We also heard from Jericho Road, Emily Watts, Michael Wilcox and Wendy Ulrich. Our day ended hearing from Laurel Christensen who is an amazing woman; she shared her adventure of this past year and working on her "Becoming". She is an inspiration to so many people.
It was an incredible event!
Me and Jen
Jen and T - I told you - I just couldn't get enough of them.
Next year we will be joined by T's mother (who will be living in Utah by then), Kortnee and possibly more daughters and of course more friends and then there will be more laughing, crying and much much more trouble!
My beautiful daughter Jen
I am grateful we were able to experience this weekend together.
I am so grateful I was able to have a weekend away for me, to spend time with my daughter(s) and with friends. I am so grateful for the things I learned, the things I felt and the desire and motivation to be a better person. I choose to become who I was meant to be - a REAL person with some unique gifts and talents.
I know I am a daughter of God. I know that my Heavenly Father knows me by name, that he cares about me and loves me! I know I can be a better person. I know I can handle any challenges that may come my way.
