Jackson has been excited to go to the temple for a very long time and Friday was finally his day. He chose to take out his endowments at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple in South Jordan.
The Ogden Temple has always been my favorite temple because of the personal treatment we have always received there; it didn't matter it if was your first time or your fiftieth time at the temple they were always so friendly, personal and helpful. I have been to many temples and have never received quite the same treatment as at the Ogden Temple.
Well that all changed on Friday. The Oquirrh Mountain Temple staff treated us much the same as we have always been treated in Ogden. They were so accommodating and friendly. They was such a special feeling there. It is a beautiful temple and it was an amazing experience.
We had to purchase Jackson's temple clothing on our way to the temple. The pants do not come hemmed so I sat in the back seat of the car and tried to hem (with white medical tape) his pants as we traveled to the temple; what an experience that was because I get car sick and sitting in the back seat trying to do something did not really help matters.
We (Dale, Jackson and I) arrived at the temple extremely early. We took a few pictures but it was so cold and the wind was blowing that we finally went in. Dale and Jackson went off their way with the worker and I had a little over two hours to kill before our session. I did some initiatory work, read the scriptures and was ready so that I was able to help my Mom get ready when they arrived. It was interesting that most of the people that I performed work for that day were from central America. We had a great session.
After the temple we went to Golden Corral for dinner with those who had gone with us.
It was an amazing day.
I am so proud of Jackson and his decision to go to the temple. I know that he will make a great missionary.
